Cherry Tree House and Cottages are located in a quiet rural Calderdale village, in the heart of Pennine Yorkshire, close to Halifax. We are ideally situated for exploring Bronte Country and the historic towns and moorland scenery of the South Pennines.

The Spring Rock Tavern is within walking distance, (400 metres), and has an excellent reputatation for serving good food and for welcoming visitors, especially those from overseas.

The Villa Marguerita  restaurant in Ripponden serves good Italian food in a friendly atmosphere. Well established restaurant, popular with locals. 

The Bridge Inn, Ripponden offers a traditional menu of quality food.  Good lunch-time menu.  Said to be one of the oldest Inns in Yorkshire. Pleasant surroundings, tucked away in the conservation area. Sit outside if weather is good.

Manchester International Airport
: 35 miles. About one hour via M62/M60/M56 motorways, depending on traffic. About the same, using the direct express rail link to Huddersfield from the airport.

Leeds/Bradford Airport : 15 miles. Allow one hour, since the journey is on normal trunk roads.

 

Nearest motorway


Calderdale
is close to the M62 cross Pennine motorway and is well served by local trunk roads. Cherry Tree House is equidistant (only 15 minutes) from Junction 24 of the M62, (for travellers from the Leeds direction and the North Sea Ferries terminal at Hull) and Junction 22 (for travellers from the Manchester direction).



Nearest railway


Trains linking Calderdale with the Intercity network are available from Manchester, Leeds, York and Preston. We recommend using the Metro trains from Sowerby Bridge for journeys to Leeds and York. The station is only 10 minutes down-hill from the cottage and car parking is free.

The express Trans-Pennine and Airport trains call at Huddersfield, which is 20 minutes from the cottage. We can arrange to meet you from the train.
